This month while we’re celebrating The Lighthouse’s 5th year, we are listening to Black podcasts that dig deep into the issues of being Black and brown in America and stories that reflect the necessity of the work being done at The Lighthouse | Black Girl Projects.

Silence is Not an Option This season focuses on individuals who stand up for what’s right – “even when it means breaking the rules.” Listen to the stories of change-makers like Claudette Colvin and Bayard Rustin and other truth-tellers who are changing the tide.

Black History Year Connecting us with the history, thinkers, and activists that we don’t hear about in mainstream conversations. With conversations about mass incarceration, the political ecosystem that fails to address the needs of the Black community and the long-term, generational impact of white terror, this podcast goes deep into Black history, bringing a broader awareness of why we are where we are today.

Black Girl in Om This unique podcast provides words of affirmation, guided meditations, and transparent conversations to “unapologetically expand the consciousness of Black women to transform.” Time and space for healing and transformation are a key part of the work to be done.

Reid This Reid That hosted by journalists Jacque Reid and Joy-Ann Reid covers “pop culture, politics and black girl magic all while having fun.” With recent topics about boosting your immunity and centering your spirit in the time of Covid to the importance of pursuing your passions and topics covering up to date pop culture ins and outs, there is a lot to listen to here that you’ll surely find something to vibe with.
