Grants and Residency Programs for BIQTPOC


Happy New Year, writers and artists! We’re excited to bring you this list of upcoming grant and residency opportunities. Some are seeking to support Black, Indigenous, Queer and Trans People of Color (BIQTPOC) specifically. Be sure to check out the websites below for more details. 


Rhizomatica Residency Philadelphia, Pa. Deadline: Jan. 31, 2021 This in-person residency seeks to bring together an intimate cohort of Black, Indigenous, Queer and Trans artists, activists, healers, herbalists, writers, thinkers, choreographers and dancers of culture.  This year’s pilot version will take place within the dance studios of the University of the Arts in Pennsylvania. 

Creative Capital Award Open Application Deadline: March 1, 2021 The application for a Creative Capital Award opens Feb. 1. Artists working in all disciplines are welcomed to apply for $50,000 in project funding, networking opportunities, career development sessions and more. 


Rauschenberg Emergency Grant Deadline: rolling basis NYFA and the Rasuchenberg Foundation have teamed up to offer visual and media artists and choreographers in the US grants of up to $5,000 for medical-related emergencies. 

Note: Cycle 5 application closed Jan. 6, 2021, for emergency treatment between May 1, 2020 and April 30, 2021. **We’re not sure if or when there will be another cycle.**


Rhizome Microgrant Program Deadline: rolling basis The microgrant program awards $500–$1,500 to proposals with a compelling vision for net art, which considers political radicalization and the internet. 

Eyebeam Center for the Future of Journalism Deadline: rolling Basis The Eyebeam Center for the Future of Journalism (ECFJ) is a grant-making program that supports artists producing innovative and revelatory journalistic work for major media outlets. Grant support will range from $500 to $5,000.
